How money works: empowering families to build a better financial future
By Connie L. Oakes, owner of Oakes Tax Service, LLC and Financial Solutions
When I started Oakes Tax Service, LLC in 2014, my goal was simple: to provide affordable, accurate tax services without the outrageous fees. Over the years I have come to realize that my true passion is deeper than a well-prepared return. It is educating families about how money works.
Too often I meet clients who feel overwhelmed by their finances. They are unsure how to budget, how credit scores work, or how to plan for retirement. That is where I come in — not only as a tax preparer, but as a financial educator and advocate.
Why financial education matters
Financial literacy is not just about numbers. It is about confidence. When you understand your money, you can make decisions that match your values and your goals. You can stop living paycheck to paycheck and start building a future you are proud of.
What we work on together
File Federal, State, and Local taxes accurately and affordably. Understand and improve a credit score. Build a realistic budget that supports your actual life. Begin — or refine — retirement planning.
Who I serve
I work with main-street families: the everyday people who are working hard, raising kids, paying bills, and trying to make smart choices. I also love working with high-school and college students, helping them build strong financial habits early.
Whether you are just starting out or preparing for retirement, I want you to feel empowered and informed. If you are ready to take control of your finances, let’s build a plan rooted in knowledge, not fear.
